Pharmaceutical validation & AI GxP consulting

Put AI to work with a clear purpose and evidence you can assess.

We will lead our clients through difficult and demanding challenges.

AI introduces new questions into pharmaceutical quality systems: What is the intended use? Which outputs can be trusted, under which conditions? What changes when a model, prompt, supplier, or source document changes?

ProtoCall helps Quality, IT, Engineering, and Operations teams answer those questions through readiness assessment, governance, and validation strategy.

Lead the adoption. Understand the risk. Plan the assurance.

Bring validation judgment to the whole workflow: the people, information, software, model, and decisions that depend on it.

AI Readiness, Governance & Risk

Establish where AI can support the business and what must be understood before relying on it.

Establish where AI can support the business and what must be understood before relying on it.

  • Use-case inventory, intended use, system boundaries, and GxP impact.
  • Supplier evidence, data access, privacy, and deployment assumptions.
  • Accountable owners, decision rights, escalation, and review responsibilities.

Typical outputs: prioritized use-case register, gap assessment, risk rationale, governance responsibilities, and adoption roadmap.

AI Validation & Assurance Strategy

Define a proportionate evidence strategy for the intended use and the consequences of error.

Define a proportionate evidence strategy for the intended use and the consequences of error.

  • Requirements, proposed acceptance criteria, and representative evaluation tasks.
  • Normal, boundary, and failure cases, including missing evidence and unsupported answers.
  • Separate assessment of deterministic software, AI behavior, retrieval, and the complete human workflow.

Typical outputs: assurance plan, evaluation design, traceability approach, evidence-gap review, and recommendations for client authorization.

AI Data Integrity & Lifecycle Control

Keep the basis for an AI-supported decision understandable as the workflow evolves.

Keep the basis for an AI-supported decision understandable as the workflow evolves.

  • Source provenance, record retention, access, review, and audit-trail requirements.
  • Traceable model, prompt, configuration, and source-document versions.
  • Performance monitoring, incident handling, change assessment, and re-evaluation triggers.

Typical outputs: control requirements, lifecycle responsibilities, monitoring recommendations, and change-impact assessment framework.

Choose the question that needs resolving.

Scope, deliverables, timing, and any required specialist participation are agreed for each engagement. Model development, cybersecurity testing, statistical methods, and microbiological interpretation require suitably qualified expertise where relevant.

Quality document retrieval & review

Inputs: authorized, version-controlled procedures and technical records.

Inputs: authorized, version-controlled procedures and technical records.

AI role: locate relevant passages and prepare a cited draft for a qualified reviewer.

Challenge cases: superseded procedures, absent answers, conflicting records, and misleading instructions within source material.

Controls & decision: source/version traceability, access control, grounded-answer evaluation, and explicit abstention. The designated document owner checks evidence and approves the final content.

Manufacturing & CPV trend support

Inputs: reconciled process data, approved limits, and process context.

Inputs: reconciled process data, approved limits, and process context.

AI role: assist exploration, summarize patterns, and draft questions for investigation.

Challenge cases: missing values, sensor drift, changed process conditions, false alerts, and missed signals.

Controls & decision: qualified data, justified statistical methods, benchmark comparisons, and review of model changes. Process specialists and Quality determine the investigation and any action under client procedures.

Environmental monitoring investigation support

Inputs: reviewed monitoring records, locations, methods, and relevant operational events.

Inputs: reviewed monitoring records, locations, methods, and relevant operational events.

AI role: organize evidence and suggest investigation questions for specialist review.

Challenge cases: sparse data, sampling changes, misidentified organisms, and unsupported causal conclusions.

Controls & decision: preserve original records and scientific context; evaluate omissions and false associations. Microbiology specialists and Quality assess significance and approve conclusions. Batch disposition remains an authorized human decision.

A consulting process built around client decisions.

01

Assess

Understand intended use, users, interfaces, available evidence, and quality impact.

02

Plan

Define requirements, risk rationale, evaluation strategy, deliverables, and decision owners.

03

Lead

Guide evidence review, cross-functional decisions, gap resolution, and implementation priorities.

04

Sustain

Establish monitoring, change assessment, escalation, and re-evaluation responsibilities.

Use the right source for the intended use.

GMP requirements, medical-device guidance, voluntary standards, and consultation drafts have different scopes and authority. An AI label does not make every source applicable to a pharmaceutical manufacturing workflow.

Our AI GxP Library distinguishes checked sources, reachable links with unverified versions, and unresolved entries. The Reference Library retains the wider validation, USP, sampling/statistics, and microbiology resources.

For conventional system and cycle work, explore CTU and warehouse qualification or sterilization and depyrogenation consulting.

Two distinctions that affect planning

The FDA's January 2025 draft AI guidance addresses credibility of AI supporting drug and biological product regulatory decision-making. It is draft guidance, not for implementation.

The European Commission's 2025 consultation on Chapter 4, Annex 11, and proposed Annex 22 is closed. Consultation text must be distinguished from operative GMP text.

Source-page status checked 16 October 2026. Applicability must be assessed for the actual jurisdiction, product, and workflow. Technical review does not confer regulatory acceptance or client quality approval.

Bring us the AI decision you need to make.

Start with the intended use, current project stage, and uncertainty that is holding the team back.
